The team from Taric WiseTech Global participated last week in the kick-off meeting for the new Access2Markets contract for the 2026-2030 period, held at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels together with representatives of the Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Security (DG TRADE). The new contract, with an estimated value of €3.5 million, consolidates a long-standing strategic partnership that has been in place continuously since 2004.
The meeting formally marks the beginning of a new phase of collaboration following Taric’s recent re-appointment as official information provider for the Access2Markets portal.
The Taric WTG team will continue to be responsible for the maintenance, updating and quality assurance of highly specialized information on:
- Non-tariff measures applicable in the European Union and its 27 Member States
- VAT and Excise Duties across the 27 EU Member States
Over time, Taric WTG’s role in Access2Markets has evolved alongside the project’s development, strengthening its technical knowledge, forward-thinking approach, and demonstrated ability to handle complex international trade regulatory data. Its contribution has been especially important in connecting regulatory measures and duty rates to the appropriate tariff codes, and in delivering clear, well-organized explanations of compliance obligations.
A strategic project for international trade
Access2Markets is the European Commission’s official platform providing practical and up-to-date information on market access conditions for the European Union and more than 130 third countries, and centralizes practical information on:
- Import requirements in the EU
- Conditions for access to more than 130 international markets (procedures and formalities)
- Indirect taxes, such as VAT and excise duties
- Rules of origin and trade agreements
- Services and public procurement
During the kick-off meeting, both teams discussed the strategic objectives of the new contract, the implementation roadmap and the technical priorities for the 2026-2030 period, reaffirming their shared commitment to quality, accuracy and continuous updating of the information provided to businesses and economic operators worldwide.

The renewal of this contract further strengthens the longstanding collaboration between Taric and DG TRADE and reflects the recognition of Taric’s technical expertise and specialization in the processing and structuring complex customs and tax information.
With the launch of this new phase, Taric will continue contributing to the development and enhancement of Access2Markets as a strategic tool facilitating transparency, legal certainty and competitiveness in international trade.
