What You'll Learn

Employees of s77G licensed depots are required to be aware of their obligations in dealing with goods subject to Customs control and the Australian Border Force stipulates that the holder of a s77G depot licence must provide adequate training to make staff aware of their legal obligations in dealing with goods subject to the control of Customs.

As each licensed depot will have different practices depending on the type of cargo being handled, unique site issues and may use different software products, this course has been designed to meet only the generic requirements that apply to all staff employed by depots licensed in accordance with s77G of the Customs Act 1901.

Course Content

As an employee of a licensed depot you must be aware of your obligations in dealing with goods subject to Customs control. ABF required that “The holder of a licence must provide adequate training to make staff aware of their legal obligations in dealing with goods subject to the control of Customs”.

There is not a “one size fits all” depot operation, it is likely that each licensed depot will have different practices depending on the type of cargo being handled, unique site issues and use different software products. This course has therefore been designed to meet only the generic requirements that apply to all staff employed by depots licensed in accordance with Section 77G of the Customs Act 1901.
